Discipline In The Office

There are many ways that employees choose to discipline their employees from a simple talking to or even making a fool of them in front of everyone else in the serviced offices. If an employee has done something wrong and you are not sure on what to do with them then perhaps you should read on and find out what the options are?

Did They Actually Do It?

One important thing to think of before you go out shout at them or bring them into your office for a telling to is what did they do, are you sure they did it and how bad is it really? These important things need to be looked into before you blame someone for something they may not have done. If you bring them in front of everyone and they havent done anythign wrong then you are the one that could end up in a spot of trouble, or even a lot of trouble. Do not ever just go in with opinion, get the facts and make sure they are correct before you do anything at all.

If you have the facts then you can start to do something about this. Sending them an email if the problem isnt too bad is a great way to sort things out. There is no need humiliating the individual by telling them to come into your office if it is something very minor. If it something a bit more serious then give them a written warning, it is important that you do not do this in front of other employees. This way you are making a point but not taking away any dignity.

On the other hand if it turns out to be really bad make an example of them, fire them in front of everyone in the office to show them you do not allow this kind of behaviour.
